 'MOBILITY ROCKS' - Chair Yoga seated exercises

Chair yoga is a  safe, supported style of exercise that brings instant results. Significantly designed to improve flexibility, strength and balance, improve cardio vascular fitness and circulation, while the flow of breath and movement is noticeably soothing to the mind and nervous system.

If you're 50 plus and haven't exercised for a while, adding chair yoga into your daily practice can dramatically improve your quality of life.

You may be suffering some aches and pains, in your lower back or battling with stiff knees or tight hips. It's most likely that is a result of either sitting too long at a desk or from living a more sedentary lifestyle.

#Fact 1 - As we age our body tends to lose muscle mass and less muscle mass means less strength and mobility, with higher risk of injury.

#Fact 2 – The stabilised movements of seated exercises can help you improve strength, balance and mobility.

#Fact 3 – Better strength and mobility means less risk of injury and falls.

Its good to know that you can build muscle mass and strength as you age. It's nevere too late to start moving and if you need extra support to get you going then chair yoga is the answer.

These gentle workouts will give you greater range of motion, better strength and flexibility, helping to relieve aches and pains, especially in the lower back, knees, and hips. You will feel an extra boost to your mood, leaving you feeling uplifted and energised to start the day.
