Blending Qigong flows with restorative Yin holds

The ancient Chinese practice of Qigong can be likened to a moving meditation, gently directing the flow of energy with slow breath to regulate the whole body's overall wellbeing.

Wide research has shown that regular practice improves bone density, balance, immunity, and cardiovascular health. The easy, flowing forms and sequences make it accessible to people of all ages, but it is especially appealing to women in midlife who can often feel overwhelmed by the pressures of everyday life and changing hormones.

While Qigong focuses on the movement of energy, Yin Yoga invites us into stillness. This is a slow-paced practice where we hold floor-based poses for several minutes at a time. Rather than working the muscles, we target the deeper layers of the body—the connective tissues and fascia. Poses focus directly on the liver, stomach, kidneys and spleen meridians (energy lines) to encourage physical release and a deep sense of mental calm.

The Qi-Yin Reset is a weekly practice designed to bring you back to your center. By blending the easy, flowing movements of Qigong with the deep, quiet stillness of Yin Yoga, we work with both your energy and your body to release the day's tension.

Why it Works

• The Flow: Qigong movements generate free-flowing Qi/Chi energy.

• The Stillness: Yin passive stretching cultivates stillness and deep release.

• The Harmony: Together, they mirror the movements of nature, like Pine trees in the breeze, Moon over the lake and Holding up the heavens.
